Which standards we make, and at what size

Every DIN, ISO, JIS and ASTM number listed on our product pages, in one table, so you can check a drawing callout without opening eight pages. Volume production is M1.0–M5.0 and the maximum standard size is M16 — those two figures apply to every row, so the useful question is never whether we know the number but whether your size sits inside them. Two of the numbers below no longer mean what a drawing usually assumes, and they are marked.

Read the two right-hand columns first. A number we list is a number we make to; it is not a promise that every size, head, drive, material and finish in that standard is routine here. Actual capability is confirmed on enquiry — that sentence appears on every product page and it is not boilerplate.

What a number on this page does not tell you

Property class and material are separate decisions from the dimensional standard, and a drawing that names only the dimensional number is under-specified. ISO 898-1 carries the steel property classes and ISO 3506-1 the stainless grades, and neither is implied by DIN 965 or ISO 7045.

Nor does the standard settle the hole. For the forming and tapping families the hole tolerance is the first thing that goes wrong on the floor, and the document behind it offers guideline values rather than requirements — so the hole belongs to your drawing.

And a standard number is not a finish. Coating designation, passivation and any sealer are specified separately; below M6 the coating thickness runs into thread clearance before it runs into corrosion requirements — which constraint bites first.

What falls outside

Stated plainly because it saves both sides a week: above M16 we are not the factory, and volume economics below 10,000 pieces rarely work. The full version of that boundary, including custom work we do take on, is on capabilities.

Enquiries

Quoting from a drawing callout is faster than quoting from a description. Send the standard number, the size, the property class or stainless grade, and the finish — four fields settle most of it. If the drawing names ISO 7085 (withdrawn 2010-02-10) or a DIN 7504 letter other than K (superseded 2000-02, and the other letters disagree across sources), say so and we will come back on what it should be before quoting rather than after.
